Leader in Business: Dr. Sophie Vandebroek, Chief Technology Officer and President of XEROX Innovation Group

Past Companies: Prior to working with XEROX, Sophie Vandebroek worked as Chief Technology Officer at Carrier Corp.

Current Executive Team: The XEROX executive team includes James A. Firestone, Michael C. MacDonald, Ursula M. Burns, Lawrence A. Zimmerman, Anne M. Mulcahy, and Thomas J. Dona.

Accomplishments: Sophie Vandebroek was instrumental in the release of the solid-ink Phaser 8400 and Nuvera 100/120 printer for XEROX. Sophie Vandebroek also holds 12 US patents and is a Fulbright Fellow and a Fellow of the Belgian-American Educational Foundation.

Affiliated Organizations: Sophie Vandebroek is involved with the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers as well as the IEEE Administrative Committee. She also participates in several universities and serves as a judge for MIT's Technology Review Young Innovators awards.

Current Executive Team: Avalon Capital Group's executive team consists of Dave Russell, Anthony R. Bassett, Jon McCloskey, Robert J. Machacek, William D. Murray, Tom Grueskin, and Joseph Burke.

Accomplishments: After founding Gateway and the Avalon Capital Group, Ted Waitt, started the Waitt Institute and Ted Waitt Family Foundation.

Associated Organizations: Ted Waitt participates in the Foresight Nanotech Institute, the Founding Fathers campaign of the Family Violence Prevention Fund. He is also involved in the Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce and the Jonas Salk Institute for Biological Studies.

Past Companies: Lorenzo H. Zambrano joined the family company in 1968. He was then elected to the positions of CEO and Chairman of the Board in 1995.

Current Executive Team: The executive team for CEMEX includes Victor M. Romo, Francisco Garza, Rodrigo Treviño, Fernando Héctor Medina, A. González, and Juan Romero.

Accomplishments: Under the guidance of Lorenzo H. Zambrano, CEMEX has implemented environmentally friendly techniques in product development and mining. Through the new processes CEMEX has improved air quality near its factories. Lorenzo Zambrano has also successfully upheld a 100 year tradition of the Zambrano family operating CEMEX.

Associated Organizations: In addition to CEMEX, which possesses locations internationally including Victorville, California, Monterey, Mexico, and throughout Europe, Lorenzo H. Zambrano contributes to the Citigroup International Advisory Board, Grupo Financiero Banamex, and ICA. He is also involved with the Board of Tecnológico de Monterrey, and the International Advisory Board of the Allianz Companies.
